HEALTHCARE staff across the MidWest are taking part in a major vaccination programme to protect patients from flu this winter.
UL Hospitals Group and HSE Mid West Community Healthcare this Wednesday joined forces to launch a flu campaign aimed at vaccinating thousands of healthcare workers in community, primary, mental health and acute hospital settings across Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. A national target of 40% uptake rate has been set by the HSE.
Pictured at the launch were, University Hospitals Group CEO Colette Cowan, Bernard Gloster, Chief Officer Mid West Community Health Care and Aine Murray, Dooradoyle with her baby son Cuan, 11 weeks.
The HSE will next Monday, October 9th, launch its national flu campaign, with at-risk groups – including the over-65s; people with long-term chronic illnesses; pregnant women and residents of nursing homes and other longstay facilities – encouraged to get the vaccine from their family doctor or pharmacist.
